Optical Filters and Infrared Filters
At Instrument Plastics we craft and create some of best optical
filters available on the market. If your business is
looking for excellent performance from top-of-the-range infrared
or optical filters then look no further. What's
more, Instrument Plastics has been around for over 20 years and
has over 40 expert engineers. Over the years we have provided
companies like yours, with invaluable filter equipment in the
UK and internationally. As we have been in the market for two
decades, we have had plenty of time to research and build our
filters to the highest standards possible and for them to be
the most effective available. Our filters are also designed for
high durability and offered at highly competitive prices.
Our high quality infrared and optical filters are
custom-built in our workshops, which includes a thermosetting casting
department where we use high scratch resistant (HSR) optical thermoplastics,
acrylics and polycarbonates. You can also rest assured that all
of our infrared and optical filters are fully
tested and arrive with you in optimum condition and ready for installation.
Infrared Filters
If you have equipment operated by or using near infrared signals
within environments with high levels of visible radiation then
you will need to consider one of our infrared filters.
Within an environment with high visible radiation infrared operated
equipment without an infrared filter may malfunction
or be activated accidentally. Such equipment can include remote
controls, security systems, presence-sensing devices, proximity
devices or scanners.
Our Optolite Infrared (IR) broadband acrylic filters are
carefully designed to transmit infrared radiation at wavelengths
greater than 750 nanometres (nm), meaning that the signals are
all but opaque to visible light. Instrument Plastic's Optolite infrared filters cut
out the visible spectrum and thereby improve the system’s
effectiveness by heightening the signal-to-noise ratio. If you
are looking for an infrared filter that provides
excellent transmission then look no further. With one of our infrared
filters, 90% of your infrared signals within the region
of 850nm and 2000nm will reach the intended target.
Our infrared filters can be created with a special
cast-in non-glare finish. This means that your IR equipment
will not have any unnecessary surface reflections that could cause
unwanted behaviour. As our non-glare finishes are cast-in it also
means that they cannot be peeled, scraped or scratched off unlike
simple coverings and other similar infrared filter solutions.
Finally all of our infrared filters are custom-made
to your specific requirements. You can simply send us a drawing
and we can build the shape and size that you need. Our infrared
filters also come in standard thicknesses of 0.5, 1.0,
1.5, 2.0 or 3.0mm depending on your needs. However, as we
realise that every one of our customers is different, we can also
provide non-standard thickness filters built specially to order.
Optical Filters
Our polycarbonate or acrylic HSR optical filters can
be tailor-made to your business requirements and specially crafted
to be highly effective within your working environment. We can
provide any type of optical filter, from our hugely
popular clear HSR filters, to our polarising filters.
Perhaps you simply want to protect your LCD display equipment
from damage or from high temperatures? Then you will need to choose
one of our Optolite clear HSR filters. These filters
are created from scratch resistant, temperature resistant and impact
resistant materials that are 20 times more durable than normal
acrylic.
If you work in an environment that has an unusual background light
quality then you will want to take a look at our Optolite
contrast enhancement filters. These optical filters are
designed to cut out background light effects while optimising the
screen’s own light transmissions. This means that screens
fitted with our contrast enhancement optical filters are
clearer to read than you ever would have thought possible under
such adverse conditions.
Instrument Plastics is also an authorised distributor of 3M polarising
optical filters that can be used in such machinery as stress
analysis devices, 3-D technologies and in photographic equipment.
Our polarising filters have proved so successful that we have
already established numerous clients within aerospace, defence,
scientific and medical sectors, to name but a few. You
can join our growing client list right now and order polarised
optical filter to your company’s exact specifications.
What's more we provide linear and circular polarising filters
that can be matched to your working environment and needs.
Another Instrument Plastics favourite is UV filters, a perfect
solution if you have visual display equipment outside. A
UV optical filter can block harmful UV rays and
prevent LCD screens from blackening, becoming foggy or even malfunctioning.
UV filters can even be added to other filter types so, for example,
you can have an Optolite clear HSR filter with UV blocking capabilities.
You can also combine UV filters and infrared filters to
provide a highly effective solution to stop LCD overheating in
devices subject to intense direct sunlight.
As with our infrared filters above all of these
optical filters are made to your specifications. They can be
made to a standard thickness or to a thickness and shape you
suggest.
Our quality assurance procedure
All our optical and infrared filters are fully
tested before they are shipped to you. We have rigorous and intense
quality assurance procedures to which all of our filters subjected:
they are examined minutely for scratches or imperfections and fully
tested in a specialised testing environment for the qualities they
have been purposely built to provide. Our optical filters are
then carefully covered with a protective covering before being
transported to you. This means that our filters will be in perfect
condition when they reach you.
Now you can order online
Now you can also order online using our online store. This means
that your optical and infrared filter orders can
be placed at your convenience, quickly and easily. Not only does
this provide a more efficient method for you to place you orders
but also helps us keep costs down and therefore offer you more
competitive prices for optical or infrared filters.
